Referenced Essay Overview:

The assessment is conducted in Module B of the Advanced course.

Learning outcomes assessed -

students can follow a process to write a referenced essay of 500—600 words that demonstrates logical reasoning.

Learning objectives assessed -

students can generate ideas,
develop critical claims and write using accepted academic style and register
can organise response coherently
can support arguments or claims with a range of evidence
can demonstrate good control of grammar, vocabulary, and organisation when writing on a familiar topic
can integrate source material into writing following appropriate academic conventions
can effectively proofread, edit and revise writing.

The essay is worth 10% of course marks.

Feedback will be given at the planning stage.
